Unlike traditional tactics games that rely on RNG, the combat system emphasizes readable depth and deterministic outcomes. Victory depends on mastering interactive environments, managing scarce resources like propellant and medgel, and exploiting a complex stealth and noise system.

Beyond combat, players navigate a living city strategy layer. Choices in missions affect reputation with factions like the Prospect corporation or the Bats gangs, unlocking new narrative paths and shifting the city's balance of power.
